Exchange Guide
To setup eSilo Exchange application you must have an existing account. If you do not have an existing account, please contact eSilo (561) 747-6880 to setup an account. You can download eSilo Exchange from out downloads page.

After the program is downloaded and installed, you will be asked for your Exchange user name, domain and password. The user must have full administrative rights delegated to it. This is generally the administrator.

To find the user with full delegated rights: Click start, programs, Exchange, and then system manager. On the upper left right click the Exchange account name (company name). Select delegate control, click next then the list of Exchange Full Administrator(s) will be listed.

The next step is to insert your eSilo encryption key. To access your encryption key you need to log onto eSilo backup with your administrator user name and password (this is the first account you created during initial activation). Once you have logged in click on "File" & "export encryption key". Do not leave your encryption key where others can view or make copies of it.

Once you insert your encryption key click next. You will then need to enter your user name and password. This is your administrator user name for eSilo backup, the first user you created.

The next screen will show you the eSilo Exchange application. On the left side of the screen you should see all of your Exchange mailboxes. If you are unable to all your mailboxes on the left, then your Exchange user does not have fully delegated rights. Click on the schedule icon and select Account to change your user name, domain and password.

Exchange Schedule
  • Select the users and their folder that you would like to protect. Once you have selected all of the users and their folders; click the save icon.
  • Click on the schedule icon. You can change the days, hour(s), minutes of the hour, email notification and retention period.
  • You can start the schedule immediately by clicking on the Backup icon. eSilo will calculate the uncompressed amount of data then start to transfer the selected folders.
You can set eSilo Exchange backup to run more than one time per day by selecting the hours you would like it to run at. The retention period is the number of days you would like your data to remain on eSilo after it is completely deleted from your Exchange server.
